2013 starts with a bang on January 11th featuring Juzzie Smith

With a low of 27 degrees it was more than Juzzie Smith that was hot on the night! The Marketta was jam packed with Gold Coasters wanting to be part of the cultural arts movement of the area. The kids over ran the stage and the past Blues Festival performer was in his element.

Miami Marketta August 1oth was a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US.

There is no better reason for celebrating than a 1st birthday. The miami Marketta officially reached its first birthday fairly unscathed and in tact. A few sore muscles after the set up but as soon as the music and entertainment starts we forget all of that!
A beautiful crisp evening saw record crowds, awesome music and Rabbit and Cocoon w=very own "cotton ale " beer selling out.
We can not wait for September with a musical mix with a touch of rock with our feature band "the midnight antics".
here comes summer !!!!!!

What you missed out on at the Miami Marketta July 13th

Miami Marketta April

April definitely rained on our parade, out of the blue the skies opened and the puddles filled! Despite this there was a great brave wet weather crowd. How could they stay away with music from Rhea Robertson, James Kyle, Dj Sebby and The Lamplights!!! Plus we do have lots of undercover areas at the marketta where you can remain high an dry!

Miami marketta March

A beautiful March night saw the Miami Marketta lit by a full moon. Entertainment for the night was performed by solo acoustic Laura Obrien, dj Sebi and The Purple Toes. We were also entertained by some local kids who danced the night away!
Special guests from aerial artistry performed a hoop routine from the roof top as the sun went down, the sangria flowed and the marketta shined with local families and friends .

Miami Marketta February

The February marketta was amazing, to see all of the families out to watch music, eat beautiful food and support art, fashion and design on the Gold Coast is really rewarding. The hard work of the past 18 months feels like it has paid off with the crowds reaction to this months marketta.
February's Marketta was soothed by the acoustic genius of James Kyle, a local singer song writer with a chilled out organic vibe. Dj sebi returned to amp things up a little in between african drumming performances by Afro Groove. The mix of all music genres was so refreshing and the crowd was open to the change of pace!

January's marketta was a great way to kick off the new year. we had a full house again .
Dale Carmody started out the night in a chilled out vibe with his acoustic covers and originals. It was so good to see so many little ones up there dancing away to his tunes. The miami marketta prides itself in being a family orientated event and January saw heaps of families come down and have dinner and watch the music.
Dj Sebi debuted at the marketta and created such an amazing vide pumping through the marketplace, we can not wait to have him back.
Studio residents Emma Milikins and Tara Fletcher put together a fashion spectacular, complete with day of the dead themed dancers and stilt walkers, the girls showed a sample of their latest collections, full blown greens, reds and oranges flowed freely  on the models in the mode of maxi dresses and skirts.
Purple Toes put on a great show to cap off the entertainment with their unique blend of tunes. The guys will be back at the marketta in a few months so dont miss them, they are a Gold coast band of the future!
As well as great entertainment , the real reason why the marketta exists is to showcase the wide range of talent we have on the coast. Wether it is the ceramics, hand printed litographs or hand made baby bloomers, this space is here for you to buy the our of the ordinary birthday present, get well card or just a little something to spoil yourself. The best motivation for this is that you are supporting local art on the Gold Coast.
