Thelma Plum is a Gamilaroi woman who likes to sing and play, and now finally and for the first time she will get to do that on a national album tour.

The Better in Blak album tour has been a long time coming but Thelma and her band are beside themselves at the prospect of trip around the country showcasing what Thelma has been working on for so long.

Thelma says: “It’s been a little while since I have been on the road for my own solo shows and I’m really excited to bring these songs to life and to perform them live. Playing Groovin’ The Moo recently I was only playing the singles that have already been released so I’m really happy to open up the rest of the album and get these songs out there.”

Recorded between Sydney, London and New York, Thelma’s debut album features the title track ‘Better In Blak,’ as well as ‘Not Angry Anymore’ and the triple j Hottest 100 hit ‘Clumsy Love’.
‘Better In Blak’ sees Thelma at her absolute song-writing best, with help from regular collaborator Alex Burnett (Anthony & Cleopatra, Sparkadia) and, amongst others, Dave Le’aupepe from Gang of Youths.

Having toured this year with Groovin’ The Moo and with an upcoming appearance at Splendour in The Grass Thelma Plum’s in for a massive year and this album and tour will solidify her as one of the country’s brightest indie song-writing talents. Don’t miss these shows!

Last drinks at the Morrison Hotel Tour

The Whitlams are thrilled to announce the “Last drinks at the Morrison Hotel Tour” with very special guest Bob Evans!

It’s 20 years since “Blow Up the Pokies” was released on the multi-platinum album “Love this City” and even though all the band can really do is shrug their shoulders that nothing has changed on the pokies front they can mark the passage of time and recall partying like it was 1999 by playing most of the album each night on this tour.

Tim Freedman says “ I have identified 12 songs and two bonus tracks that I still want to play from Love this City, so that will make up the core of show this May and June. The other half of the rambunctious long set will wander widely through the other five albums, stopping off for six minutes at Bob Dylan’s ‘Tangled up in Blue’ which it’s time to play again”.

The band's career achievements include seven albums, threemulti-Platinum and three Gold and three ARIA Awards, including the Best Group presented by Gough Whitlam in 1998. In 2011 Eternal Nightcap was voted 27th on the ABC's ‘My Favourite Album’ poll, and more recently earned the 17th spot in ‘Triple J¹s Hottest Australian Albums of All Time

A lot of drinking, soul-searching and the decision to stop worrying about it all and just write some giant fuck-off rock songs.
‘We Don’t Care’ is the Polish Club’s latest single from second album ‘Iguana’ to be released on June 7, and joins previous tasty slice, ‘Clarity’, which has now become the blueprint for their revitalised, wall-to-wall sound.
The track marks a definitive moment for the band, somehow still managing the trick of sounding exactly like Polish Club, yet distinctly different.
“I think we’re forcing ourselves to do something that isn’t our first instinct but is creatively something we want,” says frontman and guitarist Novak. “We’re not trying too hard to make it super cool or whatever. I don’t really care about that anymore.”
With a whole new album’s worth of new music to play with, they’re touring the country with a whole new set on their biggest tour yet. Ready your ears for a brasher, more honest and completely levelled-up Polish Club.
