Self-taught, powerhouse Ruby Fields has announced her debut album ‘Been Doing It For A Bit’ and now it’s time to take it on the road (and do it a bit more).
Ruby Fields creates indie rock that expresses the pitfalls of being young, with a good dose of humour interwoven into her words. Priding herself on her live shows, which always bring a few laughs, cause a bit of a mosh, see a few schooeys sunk and leave a damn good impression.
Tickets won’t last for this one. Book now.

LORD AND LADY LAMINGTON
Sweeter than the cakes themselves, are the bakers serving them up. Our most treasured duo, Liz and Mick at Reid Street Kitchen spoil the locals with their magnolious confections. Their Marketta story began 9 years ago, after many years running their dessert business between the Gold Coast and Brisbane Markets, Liz and Mick set up their stall here at the Marketta and decided that this was their home to stay. Baking everything here on site, Reid Street Kitchen makes all their products from scratch with no preservatives, additives or stabilisers. We are so lucky, our very own Lord and Lady Lamington!
HERE FOR A GOOD TIME
With two kids in tow, Liz and Mick keep themselves very busy helping out around the community doing whatever they can for the school and local organisations. On top of that Liz works a few times a week at a nearby hospital and is about to graduate from her nursing degree early next year. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down indeed!
Liz has such an amazing outlook on life, she shows up every day with a beautiful smile happy to be here, not taking things too seriously. “Take the good with the bad, enjoy the ride, have fun doing what you do,” is her mantra and we are all about it!
ALL THE DELICIOUS THINGS!
Reid Street Kitchen prides themselves on creating a huge array of different sweet treats, still using recipes that Liz learned when she was a little girl as well as the renowned Country Women’s Association Cookbooks, “I’ve always loved to bake, it’s what we would do as kids with my two sisters and my mum.” From classic favourites including Caramel Tarts, Meringues, Tiramisu and Cheesecake to some Reid Street specialities such as Brownies loaded with salted caramel and Iced VoVo Tarts. Just how Granny used to make them!
If you are celebrating a special occasion and need a cake for you can even contact them ahead of time and they will whip you up something perfect for you to share with your friends here at the Miami Marketta!
You’ll find Reid Street Kitchen here every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Nights from 5pm!
After a rollercoaster 12 months of lockdowns and challenges, Pricey is gearing up to release his debut single “88”. “The track 88 is about a special little place in Yaroomba beach, Queensland.
Its the beach access number where the free, the lost and the in between escape the world to enjoy the small things in life over a cold one”.
Over the last year I have spent my time wisely writing and recording an album. I went into the studio by myself to record my first track 88 in November 2020. Not having a band I played all the instruments myself, including the drums, bass, guitar, lead guitar and vocals. It was challenging but very rewarding.
With his debut single out in the world, Pricey will be providing fans with an opportunity to see the song live plus a bunch a new material on the way with a special Gold Coast show!

Beddy Rays have been making music together since they first met on the primary school oval back in the day, but the release of weekend anthem ‘Sobercoaster’ in 2020 really started shaking things up for these fun-loving larrikins. The cracker of a tune has amassed over 2 million streams on Spotify and echoed throughout backyards of Australia during triple j’s Hottest 100, receiving a spot at number 57 and truly cementing the four-piece as one of Australia’s most loveable groups. The boys backed it up with isolation anthem ‘Better Weather’ receiving high rotation and rave reviews among triple j folk, and followed with their last release ‘Wait A While’, an ode to picking yourself up and putting yourself first. The track quickly became a fan favourite reaching number 1 most-played on triple j in April 2021 proving their past wins weren’t just dumb luck.
These days it’s almost impossible not to recognise a Beddy Rays track, as their music has become a carefully curated recipe involving all the right ingredients: powerful lyrics, strong hooks, mosh-worthy riffs and a lingering sense of comradery and good vibes which remains prevalent in everything they create. With a new belter coming out August 18, ‘Week On Repeat’ follows the feeling of rolling into another working week while trying to break away from the plain and mundane. After winning the 2021 Levi’s Music Prize and coming off a sold-out east coast tour, these four young tradies are on their way to becoming the next big Australian export. With a growing loyal fanbase, tracks that leave you desperate for a summer festival and humble, down-to-earth personalities - everyone wants to be friends with Beddy Rays.

If you have tried Los Santos' Latin-Mexican Street Food you have probably wondered what it is that makes their food taste so incredible, although the secret ingredient may not be what you guessed!
The heart and soul of this sensational enterprise is our awe-inspiring and beloved Ana. Born and raised in El Salvador, Central America, Ana’s heritage is a melting pot of remarkable cultural backgrounds. A descendant of the Indigenous Mayans, she has drawn inspiration from her Grandmother’s traditions which are the foundations for her menu; fresh and simple fare with seasonal ingredients. From farm to table Ana has cultivated the traditions of this universally adored cuisine and made it enjoyable for everyone by accommodating any food preference, allergy or intolerance. “We have people with all kinds of preferences; vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, allergies, whatever it is we customise the food to suit whatever they need.”
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Ana’s passion for food developed through her education in health. Coming from a background in medicine, she is particularly interested in biofield therapy, which focuses on the circulation and patterns of energy that moves throughout the body. Studies have shown this can have a huge impact on the health of our bodies and minds. Ana applies this holistic approach to the preparation of the food, which she believes makes all the difference, “We infuse our food with positive vibration, channelling a positive frequency which I believe stabilises and enhances the nutrition”.
Taquitos with a side of good vibes, yes thank you!
THE LOS SANTOS JOURNEY
Los Santos is one of the original markets we had here at the Marketta seven years ago. Since then, the team have dabbled in catering, kitchen takeovers as well as their restaurant collaboration in Currumbin, ‘Los Santos on the Deck’. They have been incredibly successful in all their ventures but Ana feels that the Miami Marketta is her home and appreciates the lifestyle of being able to operate here. “Everyone collaborates, the culture is amazing, and the customers are priceless. I love being able to have conversations with everyone, we have such a loyal following, we are very grateful.”
ALL THE YUMMY THINGS!
Fresh, tangy, with an element of surprise the options at Los Santos are endless. With all the traditional favourites you can expect from a Latin-Mexican street vendor including tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas the list goes on! All their marinades and salsas are made completely from scratch, fresh every week and for all those spice lovers try the ‘Zero to Hero’ spice test, rating from 0 to 10, see how much heat you can handle!
You can find Los Santos here at the Miami Marketta every Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm!
In its humble beginnings, King Stingray was just a do-it-yourself challenge – a couple of mates stewing up hot tunes in an equally hot part of the Northern Territory bush.
Now, less than a year since they dropped their hooky debut single, Hey Wanhaka in October 2020, these five Yolŋu (Aboriginal) and balanda (non-Indus) lads from north-east Arnhem Land and Queensland have become one of Australia’s hottest new acts.
In August 2021, King Stingray took out the enviable title of #1 Most Played Australian Track on triple j, for their accidental lockdown anthem, Get Me Out.
It came off the back of an impassioned triple j Live at the Wireless set in May (watch it here: abc.net.au/triplej/live-at-the-wireless/king-stingray-live-at-the-wireless/13364098).
Mixing ancient Yolŋu manikay (songs) and biḻma (clapsticks) with hot electric guitars and searing lyrics, King Stingray have spent the past year dodging COVID-19 restrictions to wow crowds along the eastern states, with tour highlights including Dark Mofo in Hobart, Splendour In the Grass XR, and completely selling out their first ever tour in March/April 2021.
King Stingray has one foot planted in history, and one firmly in the future.
Frontman Yirriŋa Yunupiŋu and guitarist Roy Kellaway have direct bloodlines running from Aussie rock royalty Yothu Yindi – the ARIA-winning legends who gave voice to the push for Aboriginal recognition with timeless tracks like Treaty, Tribal Voice and One Blood.
Yirriŋa, whose name translates to ‘place of stingray’, is a young Gumatj clan songman from the seaside community of Yirrkala. He’s following in the footsteps of his pioneering uncle, Yothu Yindi founder Mandawuy Yunupiŋu, who passed away in 2013.
“Dr Yunupiŋu was a great man, a humble man, a knowledge man, and he’s a leader – sharing a message,” says Yirriŋa. “Now we’re here to build a bridge for our generation, for our future, for the kids, just to do the same things as he was doing, and he’s been through.”
From the wilds of northeast Arnhem Land, King Stingray are just getting started. Keep track of the boys as they get ready to drop some more of Australia’s best new music in 2021.

"I am so incredibly excited to play these shows in QLD with people that I absolutely adore. I'm a huge fan of Melaleuca, Rose Rogers and KARLOU, and I am already keen to watch them all smash it. I'm going to bring a lot of new material to these shows and have a bunch of fun visual aspects to feast your eyes on. The band and I are going to have so much fun and banter on stage, I can't wait for you all to be a part of it too. And as for the day after these shows, let us all be happily hungover together. Maccas on me! xx"
