Swooping into it’s third year, Ché Pritchard’s hit production BIRDS OF PARADISE: A Comedy Birdlesque! is back, and this time the flock is covering more ground than ever! There’s no need to brave the depths of the Amazon to peek at the mating rituals of the more traditional ‘birds of paradise’, when we have our own spectacular (albeit quirky) ‘Birds of Surfers Paradise’ right here. This show will have you laughing like a kookie in a gumtree… happy as an ibis at the tip.. excited as a pigeon at maccas.. ok ok you get it. We know them and their antics well, but never have we seen them quite like this. Don’t be surprised if they pluck themselves on stage, steal your hot chips, or have you ducking for cover under your seats. So grab a perch and hold on tight as these avian locals show off their plumage and put on an outrageous display that you’ll be chirping about for weeks.  

Mark Seymour formed Hunters and Collectors in 1980, with a bunch of Uni friends.  The band became famous for its rhythmic power and very quickly became touted as the “next big thing”.  The Album “Human Frailty“ was recorded in Melbourne in 1985. 

This record has proven to be one of the most important and enduring records of the eighties and Hunters and Collectors were still playing a large part of this cut in 1998 when they retired.  With “Human Frailty“ Mark discovered, love, loss, and pop melody.  His solo records are directly connected to this era and bear the same stamp of raw honesty and emotional power.

As a solo artist, Mark continues to search for the emotional truth in a song. His strength as a performer remains undiminished despite the ever-present shadow of the band he used to be in. 

As well as 13 Hunters & Collectors albums, Mark has released seven solo albums and three with his current band, The Undertow.  Throughout it all, he has shown he is one of our finest songwriters, capturing our stories of love, loss, human courage and achievement.

Mark is currently putting the finishing touches to his new album “The Boxer” which will be released in the first quarter of 2024.

Crawl File plays like a classic gig, opening with the band’s debut single, ‘Beautiful People’, and closing with their most popular live song, ‘The Boys Light Up’. In between are some of the most-loved Australian songs of all time, including ‘Reckless’, ‘Errol’, ‘Oh No Not You Again’, ‘Lakeside’, ‘Downhearted’ and ‘Things Don’t Seem’.
